Welcome to Friends of  Utah State Parks

Thank You For Supporting

Our State Parks

Mission Accomplished

January 10, 2022

Dear Friend of the Friends of Utah State Parks,

It’s always exciting when you hear comments like “Job Well Done” or “Mission Accomplished”!  With mixed feelings, the Friends of the Utah State Parks Board have made the decision to dissolve the organization as our mission has been accomplished.

As you may remember, the Friends of Utah State Parks (FUSP) was formed in 2007 as a 501c3 organization focused on preserving, protecting, promoting, advocating and educating about the cultural heritage, history, natural resources and funding requirements of our Utah State Parks system.  It was a critical time for our parks as major issues included reduced funding and discussions of privatization of parks by our legislators.

Today, our beloved Utah State Parks is in great shape with strong support from Utah State Legislators.  Visitation has grown exponentially and the number of parks in our state have increased in recognition of the abilities of an amazing state parks staff.

As a sponsor and/or member, we want to thank you for your support and engagement over the years as we worked to fulfill our mission to preserve, protect, promote, advocate and educate about the importance of our parks.  Job well done to you too!  We fully expect the leadership and amazing staff throughout the park system to continue to grow the value and financial security of our Utah State Parks.  We look forward to a continued strong future for Utah and our Utah State Parks!

Sincerely, Friends of Utah State Parks Board of Directors.

Accomplishments

Friends of Utah State Parks, a grassroots, non-profit organization, is comprised of volunteers who focus on preserving, promoting and protecting our state parks for future generations. Since our inception in 2007, we have made great strides with furthering the positive attention and support of our parks and are in a position to do even more to influence a positive growth in success of our parks. As Friends of Utah State Parks, we often hear positive feedback on how our communication efforts and outreach programs have made a positive impact in the perceived value of our park system with our legislators and opinion influencers.

With the support and generosity of our corporate sponsors, members, community programs, and donors, Friends of Utah State Parks has contributed over $91,000 toward small project matching grants and tree initiative programs.
